Repetitive strain injury can only be healed with the active involvement of the patient since changes in the daily habits are required for several months . Medical treatment alone is not adequate. Prevention techniques should also be used to prevent further damage.

Activity with the affected hand should be minimized or completely stopped for some time, so that the muscles and tendons start healing.

Some of techniques used for treatment of  repetitive strain injury

 Heat or cold packs;

Medications to relieve pain and discomfort.:  natural anti-inflammatory products like  arnica; painkillers such as paracetamol ; and anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen to reduce swelling;

Elastic wrist support bandages prescribed by a medical professional

 Acupuncture and  firm wrist splints  help relieve the pain. Physiotherapy, osteopathy , the Alexander technique, Stretches, Yoga Soft Tissue Therapy ,Massage treatment  by a trained therapist help relieve pain.

Surgery.-  is not always effective and should be used only as the last resort. Some of the non-surgical  methods like massages have healed every severe repetitive strain injury.
